Mommy should know better

So Devon has recently shown a lot of interesting in cutting paper. I finally gave in a few weeks ago and pulled out my little scissors I kept in my primary bag. Note that I did not say kid scissors. They are the size of kid scissors but are still very sharp i.e. they actually cut things. I gave Devon some tips on how to hold them and he went crazy cutting up paper. He actually played quietly for an hour or so making a huge paper mess cutting everything into the smallest pieces I'd allow. He did such a good job that I have let him cut older papers up a few more times. Unfortunately the other day I mad the mistake of leaving him on his own. Usually I don't monitor him to much but I am in the same room. This day I set everything up and then had to leave him for a few minutes to change Abi. I could tell by noises being made that he was no longer cutting paper so I called him into Abi's room and got a bit of a shock.

He apparently got bored with the paper and decided to try cutting his hair. I got after him but still felt it was mostly my fault for leaving him alone, sometimes I forget he is only 3 1/2. I planned to shave his head but Darren said why just wait for it to grow out so if you see him anytime soon you'll see his nice hair cut. It is very apparent when you look him right in the face.

Added note: HTe hair cut was not an "accident" either as the next day on the way yo playclass D said "Look Mommy I can see my barber haircut in the mirror." I asked "Were you trying to be a barber when you cut your hair." He laughs and says "Yeah!" Such a funny boy!

Ah yes, the barber game. Amanda likes to play "barber" but thankfully she hasn't used any actual scissors for the game yet; I think she actually means "beautician" by the way she plays. Here's hoping for speedy hair regrowth!
