July 2009

I know July isn't over yet but it's close enough for me. Plus we've already done a lot this month. We started off the month with a family road trip. We packed the kids in the car and headed to sunny California. Darren's family had their Hart Reunion in San Luis Obispo, CA. We had a lot of fun at the beach even though it was more rock then sand. Ate lots of great food, got to do lots of visiting and playing. We finally built a Water Rocket that Devon has watched them build about 40 times on Ask This Old House. He was so excited about it and knew exactly how the whole thing needed to work but apparently he didn't realize it was going to soak him and we had a very upset little boy after he pulled the string to release it. Hopefully I can figure out how to load th evideo of it on sometime soon. Here are the pictures from our trip though.
After a weekend in SLO we said by to the Hart's and headed to the San Jose to see Darren's mom. We spent a great day and half with her. We even got her wet with the rocket. The next morning we headed out late stop to see Darren cousin Rian & his wife Tracy and then spent the rest of the day in the car. Devon feel asleep at about 8:30 pm and Abigail was asleep so we decided to drive straight through and made it home at 1 am. It was a great trip and the kids were wonderful in the car (yay for portable dvd player and psp). We might even do it again some time.

The rest of the month has been spent playing catch up and trying to adjust back to our schedules. Darren has been working on the top for his desk (almost done) and getting the backyard ready for Devon's play structure (poor boy has been waiting for 2 months already). The month has just flown by already. Can't believe next weekend we will official be into August and Abigail will finally be blessed on the 2nd. Looks like it will continue to be a busy summer.
