The Above is a picture of Devon in his new church clothes. He loves the suit but the tie is by far his favorite. Today was a big day for him as he is now officially a Sunbeam and gets to be in Primary. He enjoyed it and now mom is going to have to learn to sit back and let others deal with him once in a while - which is hard to do when I'm there in Junior Primary with him. It should be an interesting transition as we now have 1 pm church and so he is in Primary during what used to be his nap time. (Yes he gave up naps the week of Christmas). He seemed to really enjoy Primary and is very excited to be in the same class has his little friend Clara.
No naps, yes we have been pretty much nap free for 2 weeks now which I miss quite a bit. But I can't complain to much as he also lost his Binky that week and it was never "found" (I found it a couple days later but never told him and it is now gone forever - mean mommy) and he adjusted like a champ. No long nights of crying for us like we had feared Hooray! We had heard horror stories of kids cry for a couple hours every night for a week to 10 days when the Binky was taken away so we feel extremely blessed that all we had to do was tell him it was gone and he seemed to adjust just like that. He asked about it once 3 or 4 days later during the day (he wanted it for a scary part of a movie) but otherwise he is doing great. Maybe the 2 adjustments go hand in hand in hand though, since his Binky was gone getting him to take a nap was a battle but by letting him stay up he is so exhausted at night that he almost literally falls asleep when his head hits the pillow and he is sleeping longer at night. Hum things to think about for number 2.
I was also excited to write that the snow was finally all gone away but today as we left church I noticed small flakes in the sky. By 8 pm tonight we had about 1 inch of snow on the ground. So who knows when this cold and snow will ever go away. Oh well we'll learn to live with it.
So we look forward to a bright new year in 2009. And I'm sure I'll have many more things to post. As Devon gets bigger and we bring a new addition into our family. We hope everyone else is as blessed as we have been.

Glad the binkie transition went well. My girls both gave theirs up at 6 months and Brandon never really took one. There were times I wish they would have taken one though. Pros and cons I guess. There are always pros and cons.
Happy New Year!
afternoon church is not fun. i am glad to report that we just switched to morning church for the first time in years!!! devon looks handsome in his suit. glad he adjusted so easily to the loss of his binky.
