Snowed In

Sunday morning we woke up to snow falling. As we were rushing to get ready for church we got the call that church had been canceled as some of the neighborhood roads were already becoming unsafe to drive on. Later that morning Devon finally convinced his Dad that he couldn't wait any longer to build a snow man and so they headed out into the cold. Mom even came out to get a few photos before she scurried back into the warmth of the house to make hot soup for lunch. When the boys came back in they quickly got a fire going (as even Daddy was cold) and then we had lunch and snuggled up by the fire. By Sunday evening we had about 3 inches of snow and freezing temps expected that night.

Monday schools were closed and chains were required on most of the freeways. We ventured out to take books back to the library (no good way to avoid those library fees even on snow days) and get more milk and firewood. The roads became passable later that day as the sun shone down but Monday night brought freezing temps again so Tuesday school was closed which meant no "playclass" for Devon. It is sunny again today but still freezing temps at night and they are forcasting 2 more storms headed our way - one to hit early Wednesday so it may be early Christmas vaction for every one.
