Look alikes...

From August 2010

This recent picture of Abi made me think of Devon at about the same age on the same toy. I think there might be something to that comment we always get of "Wow Abi looks just like Devon." :-)

Preschool...

Devon started Preschool today and he was so excited. Also a little scared and nervous, but mostly excited. He loved his class and his new teachers. He is still a little sad about leaving his old class but I think a few more days and he will be well settled in at preschool. He was especially excited to tell me that he got to pick a job for the day and he picked "Line Leader" which he thought was a perfect job. He was also very excited for the rocket on the playground, the bus he made, and his "math" (or at least he keeps saying it was math) coloring big apples red and little apples green. The boy is in heaven, and Mommy is glad to be only driving 5 minutes instead of 20 each way. Here is my crazy boy on his happy day.

Okay sorry just have to throw this one in. Devon got his hair cut a week or so ago and told the stylist he wanted red spiky hair. Daddy let them do it and my boy loved it. He kept preening all day it was pretty funny.

Overall final say: It was just a red hair gel but when still damp it looked a bit gross - Mommy 1st thought was why did someone smear blood in my child's hair. If your child is a monkey keep their head off your furniture until the gel dries. Otherwise for $1.50 not a bad way to let him express his personality for a day. Although he now wants to try some other colors. Don't be to surprised if I post a picture of him as a teenager with red spiky hair - I'll just blame it on his Dad. :)

16th month...

Miss Abi or Doodle, as she has now become known in our house, is 16 months old today. She is a busy little bug who loves to explore, climb, and get into mischief. She is also very very content to be packed around by her day and watch the world from her Princess throne. No major words yet but the way she uses inflection and jabbering you don't need to hear the words to know what she is telling you - and she is almost always telling you how things work in Abi land. She loves pink and purple, sparkles, shoes, jewelry, cell phones, remote controls, toilet paper rolls, bath tub toys & toilets (yes I meant to put those together), and everything in her brothers room. She also loves to help around the house she loves to come help put brothers toys back in their buckets, she loves empty out her dresser drawers and put all the clean clothes in her hamper where they belong. She loves to help move clothes from the washer to the dryer, dryer to the laundry basket, laundry basket to the floor or from moms neatly folded piles to squish piles all around the house.
She is an adorable handful and she is definitely going to be fun, interesting, and exhausting to parent. Love her!

Where did August go?

Seriously I think I lost a month somewhere. How can it possibly be September already? And what did we do in August....hmmm. Well Devon got to have a fun night out with Daddy and Friends to the local amusement park and IBM paid for it. I'm pretty sure he had fun what do you think?

Also after much contemplation, anxiety, and prayer Darren decided to take a new job with Intel (in Hillsboro so still local) working in their Open-Source Technology Center (OTC). What is he working on something to to do with the Linux kernel (as they hired him as a kernel developer) and embedded Linux. He was very anxious about leaving IBM because they have been a great company to work for, but he is very excited about his new job and progressing in his career. He has been at Intel for 2 days now and we at home are trying to adjust to having Daddy gone all day long.
