Lego Mania

So anyone who has visited our house in the last 2 months, or talked to Devon for more then 5 minutes, knows that the boy is obsessed with Lego Batman (yes the video game) and he is pretty dang good too. Darren and I both are very tired of hearing about Lego Batman and the different intricacies of each level (he can talk about it ad nauseam). The one plus (at least a half plus) is that he has become much more interested in playing with his real Legos. Abi gave him a Construction set for his big brother present. He mostly wanted the same trucks built over and over following the instructions exactly. But playing Lego Batman help him see what Darren had been trying to show him for a while - with Legos you can build just about anything you can imagine. Darren built him a Batman and Robin out of extra pieces and all of the sudden he was get up early in the morning (6 am as usual) and playing by himself with his Legos and *gasp* not wanting to watch TV. (YAY!) Unfortunately the construction set did not have enough basic pieces and Devon doesn't like to take his favorite creations apart (i.e. all of them - unless Mommy built it in which case it's wrong and needs to be remodeled by a boy who knows what he is doing). About 2 weeks ago Devon started wanting to spend his hard earned cash (he asks Daddy for all of his change). He has been asking for another walking dinosaur but Mommy had been looking at a new Lego set for him so we took him to the Lego store and helped him pick out an appropriate set (he wanted the Farm Combine Machine but it was for 8+). He finally settled on My Lego Town which has turned out to be a wonderful set (516 pieces though so make sure you have good storage). The photos show the collection of Legos he now has on his dresser (although the line-up does change almost daily). Mommy was even proud that she was finally able to build something (my jail truck) he played with and left together for a week before he pulled it apart (it got destroyed today as he need the jail bars for something else). Be warned if you come to our house Legos are definitely going to be talked about, shown off, request to help build my be asked (more likely if you are a guy), and he might even invite you to play Lego Batman with him.
